CALICO HILLS 2
In the fiery canyons of the sacred Red Rock Canyon region of southern Nevada, I brought
four of my ancestral brothers with me into the Calico Hills.
I danced, I sang, and I played my drum. The wind swirled, my ancestral brothers danced
with me. I am blessed.
Woe to thee, Civilized Man, who has come to see but who does not feel. They are here,
They are all around us; They will hear us if we speak to Them.
I come not just to see, I come to be with Them, to be with the Wind, to be with the
many animals who still hear and see our ‘Old Ones’. I am the most fortunate man in
Walk in these canyons and you feel them. They are not places to see, they are places
to experience. They will bring you closer to the Old World from which we all come.
Here the primitive can be released.
Here the primitive comes alive.
Here the primitive is welcome.
Come with care, dear visitors, come with care.
‘Will you dance with me?’, I asked.
‘We will...’, They said.
‘Will you show me?’, I asked.
And They moved.
Did They show me?
They showed me the secret of the ‘Old Ones’ of this place.
The Fire is in the canyon walls, the Fire is in the ‘Old Ones’, the Fire is in the
Dance of the Warrior.
I am fortunate and I am blessed.
They are there...
And so is She.
