Few men have had the honor of being able to actually dance in a Sacred Circle with the Aborigines of Australia.  Fewer men have had the privilege of dancing in a Sacred Circle with a Maori dance group.  I have had the exceptional  honor of being able to dance with both groups at the same time!

MAK’SHO DANCE THEATER

In the early 1990s, I was granted the most extraordinary opportunity to put together a dance troupe and to travel to Australia. In 1991, my Mak’Sho Dance group was featured in the Warana International Festival in Brisbane, Queensland, in the ‘Land Down Under’.

Though I would be heavily criticized for my actions, I also invited two other dance groups into our dance circle: the Mananjali Neggombeah dance group from Australia and the Te’awhina dance troupe from New Zealand.  Never before in history had this ever happened: three native peoples groups - the Native American, the Aborigine and the Maori - were in one circle dancing together!
